DIRTY VELVET – “Far Beyond The Moon”

Dirty Velvet is another band from Lausanne, well-known Swiss town, and they started out its career in 2019. After some gigs and few singles, these days, they have released full-length album with 10 tracks in, titled “Far Beyond The Moon”.

The key composer in band is guitarist Pascal “Sly Cuts” Sauty, but important role belongs to the singer Ekaterina “Katy” Koukharets. Her spontaneous, at the same time natural and casual way of vocalizing is reminiscent of post punk singers from the second half of the 70’s. But judging by the sound and the conceptual approach of the band, their way of expressing is a combination of the 90’s period and the present moments. So, in its sound, we can equally find elements of alternative rock, as same as hard rock traces as well.

All the time, the melodiousness follows the structure of the songs, as well as the simply done, but cleverly placed arrangements. And listening the complete opus of group’s actual debut we can conclude, that they have created pretty unique approach and style. Look for them on streaming platforms, or better yet, grab their CD.
