Till last months, Swedish trio Parallels was mostly a lesser known group. They recently released their debut album called “Parallels”, which is conceptual and related to the events of the war.

I have to say, that band members posses relevant knowledge about progressive music, and they are also technically very good musicians. Their sound is rich, with nice colorful arrangements, melodic passages and interesting vocal solutions. On two songs they had the help of a female vocalist, and in this album we can face it with 12 songs. Parallels are influenced by the progressive sound of the older school, but also they have accepted elements of actual genre’s standards. So, we can find in their music elements of  Genesis music, also they are “infected” by the sound of British 80’s groups as a : Twelfth Night, IQ, but also they  have showed enough original approaches. The key weapon of whole album is mentioned colorful arrangements, so that the songs sound interesting, listenable and also melodious.
This is recommended release, and look for the Swedish group on numerous streaming sites.
