Endangered Reign is not an unknown name in the world of underground metal, especially the USA scene, although this band released its previous album exactly 14 years ago. “The Forester Awakens” is their fourth album in row, which was preceded by the following releases : “Fallen Breeze” (2002.), “Unborn Legacies” (2005.), and “Fractured Reality” (2010.).
The band work in the formation of a trio, and the current release was announced in April, this 2024 year. In its own way, the Michigan band tries to combine the old way of thinking, and add the old-school version of heavy/power metal to newer, more contemporary tendencies. And without a doubt, they completely succeed. On their album there are 12 equal songs, which possess youthful energy and evident performing enthusiasm. I would add that the production is somehow more in line with an earlier period than current standards, but it seems more like it was their final choice.
In any case, “The Forester Awakens”, will satisfy all those supporters of heavy/power metal, whether they are more inclined to the old school, or the new school of the aforementioned genre.
