For Los Guayabo Brothers, we can say that they are one of those groups that approach of the heritage of Latin American/folk/Afro and world music, adding some of their own touch and an expressive step forward. In any case, it is not an easy task, but this team of musicians, whose performing energy is evident, expand expressive research in their own way, giving their music an authentic stamp.
Before actual one, they have released an album in 2017, called “iPachanaga Mohanica”. The group will unveil their new album “Psycho Tropical” on its release April 5, 2024. This new work will be presented live on stage on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at “Studio de L’Ermitage” Paris.
“Psycho Tropical” is a release with 6 + one bonus track. As the music from the album flows through your veins, body and ears, you have the feeling all the time, that you are in a club, where the dance atmosphere is constant, and where a non-stop cannonade of sound attacks you from all sides. In a way, Los Guayabo Brothers know how to remind on Colombian and Cuban bands from earlier decades, but the influence of newer tendencies, primarily psychedelic with different dance elements, contribute to the fact, that they managed to create their own specific style.
“Psycho Tropical” is a euphoric release, too rich in various rhythmic exhibitions in different arrangements and performing solutions. It is certainly an album that should be paid attention to.
