The New Mourning is a group of musician/composer and record engineer Thomas Pronai, who together with a team of like-minded people, realized the second album of the band. “Songs Of Confusion” consists of 8 songs, the publisher is “Noise Appeal Records”, and in addition to the digital version, the album is also available in vinyl format.
As the author says, “Songs Of Confusion” delves into moments of introspection and turbulence, where clarity and uncertainty collide. Musically, the band offered an unusual combination of several genre idioms, blended into mostly calmer mid-tempo songs. I would add that all the time you can feel some kind of mood that touches on post-new wave elements, as well as the period of the late 80s. Different and unusual arrangement solutions are present from song to song, and the fact is that it is not easy to get into the band’s way of thinking. There is also a special “dramaturgy” that the group communicates all the time through its music.
The New Mourning offered some of their original vision, and the fact is that the material itself will cause different reactions from listeners.
