Rachel Goodrich has been active on the international scene since 2008. Her actual album, „Once Before“, recently released, reflects her current musical interests and thoughts in a slightly different way. „Once Before“ is a release with 8 songs made in the manner of vocal jazz form, the one that was current in the period of the 30s and 50s era of the previous century.

We can find in this album 8 emotionally driven songs done in a slower mid-tempo with great background instrumental accompaniment. All the actors in the band performed their duties in an impeccable, convincing, and sophisticated way. The songs are ideal for night listening and enjoyment. Yes, many comparisons with performers and singers from an older time can be found in the way Rachel Godrich interprets it, but this setup and produced edition fits very well into the present time.

Producer Chris Harford did his part of the job in the best possible manner. The album has practically no less interesting compositions, of course, if you are a fan of this genre form, and the material itself is of uniform value.
