Muddy Gurdy is a trio that started their serious activities in 2017. Together with the current album “Seven”, they have published a total of 3 releases. The world premiere of the current work was on September 6, 2024.
This interesting and musically challenging group consists of following members : Tia Gouttebel – vocals, guitars. backing vocals; Giles Chabenat – hurdy-gurdy; Fabrice Bony – percussion, backing vocals. After their second album “Homecoming” (2020.) their original member Marco Glomeau passed away, but this crew continued on. The group is largely infected ( in positive way) with roots music challenges, Delta blues variants are present, as well as Americana traces. But all the things these artists work in an original and hopefully honest way, facing a wide range of playing, arranging and vocal challenges. The album contains several well-known songs from country-blues history, which the band “created” in its own authentic way. Although, the complete material has one coherent line, where all of the presented songs of this team are no less creative.
“Seven” is, in the musical sense also an inspiring release, which confirms the conceptual creativity of the line-up members.
